Life's distractions

We need prayer to refrain from getting distracted from the paramount things by the frustrating aggravations that have seemed to inundate us for months. A small sample of things from last month... The catalytic converter died in our van just before previously arranged church presentations. Then somewhat comically during one of our presentations, a puppet show, Ezekiel ran up to the stage and attempted a hostage take-over as he jumped up and tried to grab the puppet. While Angie and both boys were sick for 2 weeks, we had family in town and Steve went on a six day out-of town trip and got bed bugs. The fridge broke. We missed one of Zeb's doctors' appointments amidst the chaos and his skin had a flare-up. Last, I hit a deer with my truck (see pic.). We need prayer to not let the little things distract us from God's call and wisdom for the vital.

Tool?

“What?!? Mechanics as a tool?” I thought Mechanics used tools.
“So, you can use your mechanical ability as a tool to help spread the gospel to unreached, foreign national, business men that run auto stores who wouldn't be willing to listen to an evangelist,” said our Kenya Unit Leader.  Wow, so we will get the privilege of helping missionaries conquer their vehicle problems AND use the parts purchasing portion to establish credibility and friendship in order to  ultimately share the gospel to this unreached group.  Okay! Mechanics AS a tool!
She continued, “We think a good leave-date would be in July so you can be there with the team.”  “Team?”  “Yeah, you guys will be part of a team.”  Great, ... wait did she say July?  “What year?” I asked.  “2013.”  Wow! I guess we really need to get folks praying.
Then the fears come. “Us? Dirt-on-our-jeans people reaching 'high class' business people?  Can we be ready by July?  Can we do this?”  But, we remember scripture is quite clear that in our selves we are nothing but in God's hand we can triumph.  Huh. Mechanics as God's tool. Cool.
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath beforehand ordained, that we should walk in them.”

pray request

The Doctors have said, because of some calcification in the baby's heart that there is a small percent chance that he may have Down's Syndrome or other chromosomal defect. Please pray that if it is in God's will that this baby will be born healthy. And if not that then that God will give us extra grace. thanks

Belated Blog Kenya to U.S.

I'm trying to catch up on the blog. After we left Kalacha we moved to Nairobi for three months. There I (steve) worked for A.I.M.'s T.A.M. shop (Technical assistance ministries). TAM works on Missionaries' vehicles. I worked with Stephen (Right in photo below), and Benedicto (not pictured) under Trevor (Middle in photo below)

I also worked with Mark a Sudanese Darfur refugee, who was training to be a mechanic. Pray for him as he has converted but struggles with anger and frustration after seeing horrible things done to his family during the war.

Stephen Jokes around after we pulled the engine out of this old land cruiser.

a video that charmyn took after a flat going to kalacha on a nice section of road

We were able to visit my foster brother at the home he runs for street kids.

And able to see Giraffes when my family came out. Angi even fed one from her mouth!

Just before leaving we were able to make it to the beautiful coast of Kenya with my family.
